Kyle Aaserud

I'm Kyle. I've spent the last several years working in technology, mostly product and program management inside the Microsoft world. Making apps is the part I do purely for myself.

I got into it because I kept reaching for something that didn't exist quite the way I wanted it. Calotype came from frustration with camera apps that over-process and over-decide. PhotoLapse came from wanting a timelapse tool that respected the quality of the photos going in. I still use both regularly, which is honestly the only bar I care about.

I believe technology and creativity have always been the same pursuit. The apps I build exist because I enjoy building them, and because there's something satisfying about shipping a thing that solves a real problem, even if the audience starts at one.

I live in Seattle, which means I spend a lot of time looking for good light in grey weather and finding it anyway. When I'm not at a screen, I'm usually behind a camera.
