Overview

PhotoLapse respects your privacy. This Privacy Statement explains how PhotoLapse handles information when you use the app on macOS.

PhotoLapse is designed to work primarily with files you choose on your Mac. The app does not require you to create an account to use its core features.

Information We Access

PhotoLapse may access:

• Photos and image folders you explicitly select from Finder
• Files and folders you explicitly choose from iCloud Drive through the macOS file picker
• Export destinations you explicitly choose when saving a video

PhotoLapse only accesses files and folders that you select. It does not browse your Mac or iCloud Drive without your action.

How Your Data Is Used

PhotoLapse uses selected files to:

• Import image sequences
• Generate thumbnails and timeline previews
• Read metadata such as capture date and image dimensions
• Export timelapse videos to a location you choose

This processing is performed to provide the core functionality of the app.

Local Processing

PhotoLapse is designed to process your selected media locally on your Mac. Your imported photos, thumbnails, sequence ordering, and exported videos are handled on-device as part of the editing and export workflow.

Data Sharing

PhotoLapse does not sell your personal information.

PhotoLapse does not share your selected photos or exported videos with third parties as part of its normal app functionality.

Accounts and Sign-In

PhotoLapse does not require account creation or sign-in to use the app.

Analytics and Tracking

PhotoLapse does not use your selected photo content for advertising purposes.

If analytics, diagnostics, crash reporting, or similar services are added in a future release, this Privacy Statement will be updated before those features are enabled.

Data Retention

PhotoLapse works with media you select during your use of the app. Files remain under your control in the locations where you store them. Exported videos are saved only to destinations you choose.

Security

PhotoLapse relies on macOS sandboxing and user-selected file access to limit access to your files. Access is restricted to the content you explicitly choose to open or save.

Children's Privacy

PhotoLapse is not directed to children under 13, and the app is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Privacy Statement

This Privacy Statement may be updated from time to time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or operational updates. When updated, the revised version will be posted with a new effective date.
